Who We Are

BUILT ON TRADITION, DRIVEN BY CRAFTSMANSHIP

Chris got his start in construction in 2001 at 14, hired as a laborer for a general contractor. He learned by doing: digging fence lines, setting barbed wire, finish carpentry, pole barns. The work stuck with him.

Over the next 25 years he worked nearly every role on nearly every scale of project, from small sheds built with his stepson Graham and neighborhood kids, to steel fabrication for the Salt Lake City Airport expansion and Allegiant Stadium.

The most formative work wasn't the largest. In high school, Chris enrolled in a program that let him leave campus each day to build Habitat for Humanity homes. He took the class twice, in part because his mother fought to make sure he could. She's now the company's interior designer. Handing keys to families who couldn't otherwise afford a home left a mark that didn't fade.

Years later Chris asked God what he was supposed to do with all of it. The answer was simple: worship God and serve people well. Help families get into homes they actually own. Give them a place to raise children, plant a garden, and stop worrying about being pushed out.

How We Build

Homes That Grow With You

Chris studied civil engineering at Montana State University before switching to accounting with the goal of running his own business. But his instinct has always been to build. We think that points to something real: that making things is part of what it means to be made in God's image.

Our goal is straightforward. Build the best homes we can, with honest materials, at a price families can actually afford, and without usury, as we are commanded. That process led us to timber framing.

God prompted Chris to buy a sawmill and start building from trees. It didn't make obvious sense at the time. But the family invested, learned the craft, and found their footing in a tradition rooted in old-world European building practice. Large posts and beams, joined without the fasteners that corrode and fail. Some timber frame structures have stood since 600 AD. We're building for generations, not decades.

Timber frames are also designed to grow. A family can start small and add on as life changes, expand the living space, or relocate the building entirely if needed.

Owners - Kings Hill Building

We build together in the literal sense. Weekends in the backcountry, weekdays on the job site, same standard either way: do the work right and don't cut corners.

Chris brings 25 years of hands-on construction experience. Jessica brings the eye for how a space should actually feel to live in. Between us, nothing gets treated as a detail too small to matter.

When you work with us you're working with a family that takes the work personally.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build homes that serve people, honor God, and steward creation well.

At King’s Hill Building, we believe housing should be stable, affordable, and built to last. We are committed to using timeless materials, honest craftsmanship, and thoughtful design to create homes that can grow with families and endure for generations.

We exist to offer a different path — one that prioritizes people over profit, equity over debt, and long-term stewardship over short-term gain. Every home we build is intended to be a blessing: a place of rest, growth, and belonging.

Serve People

We build for families who need a real path to ownership, not just a mortgage.

Honor God

We hold ourselves to a standard that goes beyond the bottom line.

Steward Creation

We don't cut corners with what God made.

What We Build

Yes, we build timber frame home kits that will outlive us. We also build the staircases, cabinets, and details that make that house a home. Same standards our home kits are built with.
